Food & drinkTakes, not stars

Downtown Main Street Huntington Beach

Eat & drink

A cousin-list. Not every kitchen in 92648.

Go = we send a friend. Regular = solid local. Splurge = a night, or a view you pay for. These are ThisWeekHB takes — not Yelp stars, not a paid ranking. Dog flag means patio or sidewalk; still ask the day-of. Hours move.

Breakfast and coffee

Go

Sugar Shack Cafe

213 Main St

The breakfast line. Surf-town diner, cash-or-card, wait on weekends. Not a patio scene. Coffee is the point of going, plus the omelet you already know you want.

GoDog menu

Park Bench Cafe

17732 Goldenwest St · Huntington Central Park

Outdoor cafe on the park, breakfast and lunch. Dogs get an actual menu (hot diggity dog, eggs Rover easy) and birthday nonsense if you are that person. This is the inland dog brunch. Not on the sand.

RegularPatio

Woody’s Diner

Main Street

Breakfast, bloody Marys, sidewalk dogs. Fine. A line on Sunday is not a secret.

On the sand / the pier

GoPatio

Sandy’s Beach Shack

315 PCH · on the boardwalk · sandysbeachshack.com · (714) 374-7273

Casual beach food, beer, the patio that actually sees the water. Dogs on the patio. After Dog Beach this is the easy yes. Not a white-tablecloth. That is the point.

SplurgeAsk patio

Duke’s Huntington Beach

317 PCH · next to Sandy’s

The waterfront room. Fish, mai tais, a check that notices you. Patio can take a dog — ask, do not assume a four-top at sunset. Tourists find this without us.

RegularSidewalk

Fred’s Mexican Cafe

106 Main St

Margaritas, platters, Main Street sidewalk. Dogs show up. Happy hour exists; confirm the card. Loud in a useful way on Tuesday market nights.

Regular

SeaLegs at the Beach

17851 PCH · Bolsa Chica State Beach · weekends

You are here for the sand and the band, then you order food. California-casual, toes in. See live music.

Pacific City · Lot 579 · hotels

GoOutdoor

Bear Flag Fish Co.

Pacific City / Lot 579 · 21058 PCH

Counter seafood, tacos, sushi-adjacent. Outdoor tables take a dog. This is the fish-taco yes when you do not want a host stand.

RegularOutdoor

Simmzy’s

Pacific City · 21030 PCH

Burgers, beer, outdoor. Fine after a walk. Dogs on the patio when they have space.

Regular

Lot 579

Food hall · Pacific City

Several counters, one seating deck. Useful with a mixed group. Outdoor tables, variable dog policy by operator — ask the stall, not the hallway.

SplurgePatio

Pacific Hideaway

Kimpton Shorebreak · 500 PCH · (714) 965-4448

Hotel restaurant, ocean-facing patio, cocktails. Dogs on the patio; the hotel is the dog-friendly stay. Weekday happy hour is the local play (Sun–Thu last we checked — confirm). This is a date, not a burrito.

Splurge

Paséa dining (Watertable / Lorea)

Paséa Hotel · 21080 PCH

Hotel-level, ocean, brunch on weekends. Dress like you meant to. Dog policy is the hotel’s — call, do not ambush the host with a wet Lab.

Inland · courtyard

RegularCourtyard, not inside

Old World Village

7561 Center Ave

German plates, beer, festival energy on plum and Oktoberfest weekends. Courtyard often yes for dogs; dining rooms no. Music calendar on the music page.

Happy hour (confirm the card)

Pacific Hideaway, weekday hotel hours. Fred’s on Main. Duke’s when they post it. Simmzy’s. We will not print a price that changed last Tuesday. Markets and specials: farmers markets.

Sponsors, when we have them, sit here as one sentence — never a stack of banners. Rate card.
